It's become more and more obvious throughout the presidential campaign how fragile and sensitive The Messiah is to criticism. Remember his outrage over people criticizing his wife, even though she's the one that made the comments and had no problem giving speeches???
Here's a good commentary from Laura Ingraham on The Messiah and how the media is afraid to touch him or lampoon him like they do every other presidential candidate.
NO JOKES FOR YOU! One need look no further than the response to this week's New Yorker cover to know why mainstream humor outlets like The Daily Show shy away from hitting Obama. Nobody has a problem mocking John McCain's age or President Bush's intelligence, but you might as well deposit yourself directly onto hell's doorstep for offending the Obamessiah. Why? Aside from the fact that 97% of the media counts itself among his faithful flock, the race card dangles menacingly over those who aren't.
That's especially problematic when, as even left-coast Los Angeles Times concedes, "It's already beginning to seem as though the Obama camp is a trifle thin-skinned."
All the more reason for the Jon Stewarts of the world to drop their ideological pretensions and embrace the funny. Obama's a one-man gaffe machine with a penchant for annoying rhetorical cadences and snobbish facial poses - in other words, a man begging for satirization. Not mining this comedy gold is simply a crime against hilarity.
