Blaine
Weapons - A man reported that a man ran toward him with a glass bottle and threatened to strike him with it. The victim stated the man had a "crazy" look on his face. Officers contacted the suspect at his residence and he was intoxicated with a methamphetamine pipe in plain view. The man said he was off his mental health medication and "wanted to destroy himself." He stated that "he was God" and wanted to "hurt mankind." The man then lunged at officers in an aggressive manner, so police deployed a Taser. The man was taken to the hospital on a crisis hold.
Coon Rapids
Weapons - An anonymous caller reported fireworks being lit off the deck at an apartment. Police arrived and made contact with a man who initially denied lighting any fireworks. The man invited the officer into his apartment, and on the kitchen counter, the officer located a jar of M-80 style fireworks. After being confronted about this, the man admitted to lighting several bottle rockets off his deck. Police issued a verbal warning about the fireworks and told the man if he continued, he would go to jail. The man said he would stop. The officer took possession of the fireworks and destroyed them.
Harassment - Police were dispatched for a report of a threatening e-mail. An officer met with a woman who said she received an e-mail at her work that said her life was going to end soon and that someone close to her paid to have her killed. The officer read the e-mail, which also said the woman could spare her life if she paid $15,000. The e-mail didn't address the woman by name. It appeared the e-mail was generated overseas and sent though a series of servers. The officer kept a copy of the e-mail and advised the woman to notify police if she receives another e-mail similar in nature.
