Joe Biden has a recipe for Rebuilding the Middle Class in the USA by destroying democracy. This is a bit of a sore topic with me. I don't understand how allowing Unions to bully employees helps anybody in the long term.
For you liberal nuts out there that immediately ask how I can be 'against a fair wage for workers, I'm not. Anyone who has looked into "Lean Manufacturing" understands that the first and foremost thing you want to do is eliminate waste. The biggest area that is believed to be waste in most manufacturing is Inspection. Why? If you make the product correct the first time every time, you don't need to inspect it. In this frame of thought Unions are waste. Even if I believed they still followed there stated objective of ensuring save work enviroments and fair wages and benefits, they are still waste.
Any good company knows that their most valuable asset is their employees. Whether it is a Manager, a cash collector, a janitor, an engineer, or any other employee, employees allow a company to function. Therefore, it is in the best interest of any company to keep their employees happy. In some cases this requires high wages and benefits, but in most cases it requires something more subtle, which is simply appreciating them for their work, while paying them a fair wage and benefits.
My experience with Unions is that they are constantly disrupting the relationship between their members, and the companies that their members work for. This creates many issues including lower efficiencies and unhappy people.
My belief is that the average Unionized company could save at least 10% employee related expenses by getting rid of the unions, and increasing the pay to employees. This would get rid of dues paid to unions, so employees have more take home pay, and get rid of a source of much disruption in the work force.
The bottom line is Unions are generally useless, and the only reason that the Democrats want to promote this crap is that the Unions supply $$$$$

My problem with unions is that they everything is based on senority rather than merit. Why they promote a system that doesn't reward your work, and why people choose to be a part of something like that, is beyond me.
If I work hard at my job I'd want to be rewarded. Instead you are asked to just hang on for twenty years and not do anything.
