Real World Liberals

I recently watched an episode of this year's "The Real World" and I had to comment on what was going on. The season took place during last year's presidential election. To no surprise 6 of the 8 roommates are liberals and though Messiah was the greatest thing ever. One of the roommates is an Iraqi vet, however he's against the war and a liberal I guess (this is probably the only reason MTV cast him, there is no way they would cast a soldier that actually supported the war).

Anyways, during the season he got recalled to the military. What amazed me was what the liberal females said to him when he told them he was getting called back. One response was that he should break his legs so he wouldn't have to go back. One suggested he move to Canada and she began singing the Canadian anthem. The other said "well maybe you won't have to go now that Obama is President."

First, I couldn't believe the comments these idiots were making. How many soldiers have protected this country no matter if they wanted to be there or not, and these liberals are encouraging this soldier to find a way out of going back? How do they think they got the freedom they enjoy today?

Second, this soldier might be anti the Iraq war, but he's not anti-USA or anything. I liked the guy and his response to them was that they had it all wrong and he would never do that, he is serving.

Third, it showed how nieve all these liberals were last fall that they ACTUALLY THOUGH that The Messiah was going to bring everyone home the second he took office. What are we now, 3 months into his horrible term and as far as I can tell the soldiers are still in Iraq.

First of all there was a pro war iraq vet in the Austin season named Rachel, she was a war nurse or something and frequently argued with the roommates about the war.

Secondly, if someone you were really close to got called into a war you knew they didn't support and you didn't support either wouldn't you want them to avoid it if they could? They weren't seriously gonna break his leg they just didn't want him to leave. I understand that soldiers are great people, they're very brave and all that, but you can't blame them for not wanting to lose him or him for not wanting to go back, which he didn't. He's going to do it because he has to but it's not like he's excited, or wanted to get called back to Iraq.
Lastly if you're going to blast all of the cast members for their reaction you have to at least notice the respect and admiration they all had for Ryan. Seriously they all said how brave it was for him to go and how they couldn't imagine doing that themselves. They had nothing but good things to say about ryan or any other soldier and were in no way disrespectful.

The other roommate, (musclehead, can't remember his name) even remarked how the comments they made angered him. It's not as if they were joking around, they were seriously saying that he should find a way to avoid service.

I forgot about Rachel.
