Good Riddance

It's so sad to see one of the Republican traitors leave the party. Sen. Arlen Specter announced today that he's leaving the Republican party to become a Democrat. We're really not losing much though seeing that he acted like a Democrat more than he ever acted like a Republican. His fate was sealed with the party when he voted for President Messiah's spending bill.

This is also due to him facing a contest in the Republican primary for his seat in 2010. There was a good chance he'd lose the primary, or at least spend a ton of money in the process, so this way he doesn't have to enter a primary now.

Hopefully a few of the other traitors leave the party as well. I don't really care if this does give the Democrats more than 60 seats in the Senate. That will actually help Republicans in future elections because people won't want Congress dominated by one party.
Oh by the way, if you want to see the liberal media bias at work here's your chance. When a Republican switches parties it's always hailed as a great thing and Specter will be worshipped and praised. But when a Democrat flirts with the other side (Joe Liebermann) he is ripped apart.
