A Big Loser

I'm always confused as to how any internet sites make money. I get that it's off advertising, but how much can they possibly get off that??

Anyways, here's an article that says YouTube (which is owned by Google) is on pace to lose $470 million this year! Was it really worth it for Google to purchase YouTube??
