Just a few notes on the Oscars:
1) I actually enjoyed Hugh Jackman at host because he was entertaining and we didn't have to listen to political humor and jabs at middle America. When you have comedians as hosts such as Chris Rock and Jon Stewart that's all you get. But I noticed that critics are ripping Jackman apart. And the reason they cite - it wasn't "edgy" enough. In other words, they didn't have Bush to kick around this year.
2) Sean Penn needs to just shut the hell up. He's up there ripping on people who voted against gay marriage and saying how evil they are. Funny, but his Messiah president and VP Biden are both AGAINST GAY MARRIAGE. Anyone in Hollywood realize that? Any liberals realize that? Yet it was Sarah Palin who got destroyed in the VP debate for saying she was anti-gay marriage, even though Biden said the same thing! Amazing.
And then my favorite part of Penn's speech was when he said he was proud that we live in a country where we can elect an "elegant" president. Umm yeah, because Bill Clinton was so elegant when he was in office getting sexual favors in the Oval Office. And President Messiah is so elegant when he's hanging out with terrorists and Chicago criminals.
3) Bill Maher's jab at people believing in "their crazy Gods." That's fine you don't believe in God or religion, but most of the world does and they have every right to believe in a God just as you have every right not to. Doesn't mean you need to ridicule them and make fun of them. I was glad that most people in the auditorium didn't clap when he said that. I'm assuming there are plenty of people in Hollywood that do believe in some sort of religion.
4) It's always annoying how during the video of those who have died the crowd cheers for some and not for others. I don't get why they can't be quiet the entire montage rather than cheering loudly for popular people but barely clapping for others. Must make those family members at home really happy when their loved one follows up a popular actor.
But the worst part was how the crowd didn't cheer when Charleton Heston was shown. Why didn't they cheer? Because he was a conservative and in Hollywood that's about as evil as it comes. So instead of cheering for him because he was a great actor and a legend, they quit clapping because he was an evil conservative!!
All right, I think that was it. Anyways, here's a look at the highs and lows of the night.
Oh and how awkward was it when Jennifer Aniston was on stage and they kept showing Brad Pitt and Angeline Jolie!
Also, here's a look at the best and worst dressed.
