Wow, after reading all this info on Illinois Gov. Rod whatever, I can't believe this bum was elected two times. He doesn't get along with anyone in either party, he's corrupt and he gets nothing done. Yet he's been elected twice.
Although a poll in October showed him with a 4% approval rating!!!!!

This is typical in Democratic controlled areas. When someones corrupt, you know they're corrupt, and what they will do. When someone is not corrupt, or you're not sure, they could do antything. People prefer the known to the unknown. When Libs are in control, you know they are corrupt, and can play with the game. When there's no corruption there are more variabilities, and you might have to actually work rather than get kickbacks. For the perfect example look into the Big Dig in Boston. Corrupt government at its best, but they keep electing the same corruption because they all get kickbacks in some form.
This guy won because the unions supported him. In other words, he was giving them what they wanted (and getting something in return). No one else liked the guy.
