Debate Part II

Someone asked me my opinion of last night's presidential debate. Here is my response.

I can't stand analysis of debates, it's so biased. I don't think in the history of debates the media has said a Republican won. The code word is "tie." Whenever they say it's a "tie" it means the Republican won. Most media reports I've heard have said it was a tie. What I can't stand is these flash polls they do on the stations. And it doesn't matter what station - CNN, FOX, etc. It's biased towards who watches the station. Republicans watch FOX and Dems watch everything else. Look at the polls on Fox. I bet it's 95% thought McCain won. Look at CNN, it's probably 95% Obama. BUT then the media goes and cites these polls showing who won the debate. It's ridiculous.

While watching the debate I really thought McCain was hammering him pretty good. He was aggressive, was into the debate, was giving his opinion on how he was going to do things, etc. Obama was doing his usual, which is nothing. He never says how he is going to do anything, never cites his background, nothing. He talks and that's it. Yet after the debate they all say how Obama did so good and McCain looked lifeless and all this crap. I just don't get what people are seeing.

Here's my long-winded conclusion: McCain is making two huge mistakes. He has two cards he can play and he's not doing it.

1) I think he can still go after Obama on experience. Palin is done now that the debate is done (I don't mean done like she's done politically, I mean done as in no one cares about the VPs in the final month). McCain should be hammering away on how Obama has never led anything, never made decisions, etc. Yet he seems to let this topic go. Obama has no defense on it.

2) McCain should be constantly bringing up how if Obama wins the Dems will control Congress, presidency and the Supreme Court when justices retire. He should be saying that he can be the "check" on this Democratic power. He should point out how when Republicans controlled everything there was widespread corruption and nothing got done. I don't know why he doesn't bring this up. He keeps talking about how he can work across party lines, which is a good selling point. But he needs to emphasize how that will help when Dems control Congress.

I like how he's starting to attack Obama more and more and it's about time they unleashed Palin. Just let her do her thing. Let celebs and media attack her and it helps McCain. Obama might be peaking too early, there is still time left. If the economy can recover somewhat before th election McCain can get back in this. But if it stays like it is there's no chance because people assume it's Bush's fault and McCain pays the price.

Obama is an absolute joke as a candidate, one of the biggest jokes ever. But he's been a master at climbing the ladder his entire career. And he's done it by doing this - nothing. Everyone says how "calm and collected" he is. Of course he is, because he doesn't say or do anything. Look at his history, he's never taken a major stance on anything (till he ran for President), never authored any major bills, barely ever voted when he was in Illinois on controversial issues, has never led anything, etc. But he gives great speeches and talks good and convinces people with these speeches. There is no substance behind what he says. But that's the key for him and he's playing it will - don't do anything.

What was Obama's response to the economic crisis? "Call me if you need help." Did he get ripped on for that? Of course not!!! But that's the point. He doesn't do anything and is able to skate by because people are facinated by his speeches.

What can I say, he's an excellent politician. It's just unfortunate he'll be president for four years!

you mean 8 years! Go Obama!!

P.S. You have totally lost your ability to be open minded and to see both sides of the coin.

Because????????????????????

Let's see, I'm a conservative who would never vote for a Democrat even with a gun to my head. Have I confused you with my prior writings on that?
Yet you keep coming back to read this blog.
If you don't like the content, then don't read it.

By the way, if you read it I gave The Messiah plenty of credit for being a good politician. He's doinng what he needs to do to win - which is nothing. He's never done anything or said anything of substance. Yet he'll win.

4 years by the way. Jimmy Carter II is almost assured.
