There is word out of Republican circles that John McCain is leaning towards Gov. Tim Pawlenty for his VP slot. It sounds like it's down to Pawlenty, Mitt Romney and Gov. Bobby Jindal. I would rank them in that order of how they would help his campaign as well.
If I had to give one positive and one negative for each candidate it would be as follows:
Gov. Tim Pawlenty
Pro: Liked across the board by Republicans (and young enough to counter McCain's age issue - sorry that's two pros!).
Negative: Not well known outside of the Midwest and political wonks.
Gov. Mitt Romney
Pro: Economic experience
Negatives: Has flip flopped on issues
Gov. Bobby Jindal
Pro: A non-white candidate would be good for the party. Counters Obama's advantage with this voting group.
Negative: Experience (first term Governor).
