Deadline Deals

Manny can now be Manny in L.A. rather than Boston as Manny Ramirez was traded to the Dodgers in a three team deal. Jason Bay of Pittsburgh is moving to Boston and some rookies are headed to Pittsburgh.

I think it's a good deal all around. Boston gets rid of Manny's attitude and replaces him with a decent power hitter. L.A. can replace Andruw Jones with Manny and Pittsburgh gets rid of some contract and gets a couple good young players.

The other big trade was Ken Griffey, Jr. going from Cincinnatti to the Chicago White Sox for some rookies. I don't think this trade makes any sense. The White Sox have Carlos Quentin, Nick Swisher and Jermaine Dye in the OF, Paul Konerko at 1b and Jim Thome at DH. So where does Griffey play???
