Hot Stove Report

The MLB trading deadline has come and gone, and while a couple big names were moved, not much happened as usual.
Here's a report on the winners and losers at the deadline.

Nice to see the Twins on the loser list. GM Terry Ryan should have made a move back in June to get a LF, DH or 3b, yet he did nothing because .................. Rondell White was coming back. Ya, Rondell White!
For the amount of money that Ryan spent on Lew Ford, Carlos Silva, Sidney Ponson, Ramon Ortiz and Rondell White, he could have got a big bat to fill one of those holes. Instead he did nothing as usual and put players like Ford and Nick Punto in the starting lineup.
The Twins are still in the playoff hunt, but it's going to be hard to do anything if you have 3 major holes in your lineup like the Twins do. And now you can add 2b to that list as you traded Luis Castillo and filled it with a rookie or Nick frickin Punto.

Speaking of the Twins, their lack of doing anything has now pissed off their star pitcher Johan Santana. Sad to say, but we'll be seeing Santana in a Yankees uniform in about two years.
