Liberal comedian Al Franken is running for U.S. Senate in Minnesota against the incumbent Republican Norm Coleman. Franken made big news last week for raising more money so far than Coleman.
What's interesting though is that of the almost $2 million that Franken raised, less that 20% came from Minnesota residents. The other 80% came from out-of-state residents, mainly Hollywood liberals including Meg Ryan, Ed Norton and Larry David.
So even though Franken is raising more money, I think he's a long-shot to win. I don't think Minnesotans are going to elect someone who's main support is coming from Hollywood.
