Roid Free?

Here's a sportswriter for ESPN.com arguing that Barry Bonds and Sammy Sosa should both be in the All-Star game. He acknowledges that they both cheated and used roids, yet he thinks it's the right thing to do to allow them at the game.
What do these ESPN people not get about Bonds, Sosa, Giambi, etc.? Fans don't appreciate the cheating they did and they have no intention of cheering for them or rewarding them, just because "it's in the past."
Have they not noticed that Bonds is only 6 homers away from breaking the record, yet no one is talking about it and no one seems excited about it (besides fans in SF)? Seriously, if this was Griffey, Jr. there would be major buzz over the game. Instead it's been dead silence. No one wants to see this cheater break the record and no one wants to see him honored at the All-Star game.
What sucks is that if Bonds does go to the All-Star game he'll be cheered because it's in SF. Too bad it's not in some other city, then I'd want him there to hear the boos!
