The U.S. House of Representatives did something smart finally and voted down the Fairness Doctrine. For those unfamiliar with the Doctrine, it basically establishes communism on the airwaves by requiring broadcasters to offer both viewpoints on a subject. In other words, if Rush Limbaugh argues something on his show, he also has to have a liberal on the show to argue the other point.
Democrats said that by letting people hear both sides of the debate they will make better decisions. Actually, it just forces people to hear liberal opinions. Democrats don't like how conservatives dominate the radio talk shows and they can't get their foot in that door, this is their way to do it - to require people to listen to them.
