Imus Update

Don Imus has just been fired from his radio show. This of course came after Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson had a meeting with the CBS boss.
Again, why do people bow to the pressure of these two idiots?
I'm not defending what Imus said. But after apologizing to everyone in the world, was a firing warranted?
Will Snoop Dogg be fired from his record label for calling women the "b" word? Will Sharpton push for that??

By the way, here's a quote from Sharpton:

SHARPTON VOWS MORE: 'It is our feeling that this is only the beginning. We must have a broad discussion on what is permitted and not permitted in terms of the airwaves'...

So does that mean Sharpton is going to go after the rappers on MTV and the comedians on Comedy Central using this language??? Or just white commentators?

When is Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson going to apologize to the Duke LaCrosse players?

Also, if I remember my history correctly - Al Sharpton caused a race riot in new york; directed towards Jews. He called them diamond cutters and I think 6 were killed due to mob violence. I dont think any apology has come of that. Search the internet - you'll find this Sharpton sponsored riot...

Why does this story need to take up 20 mins of a 30 minute newscast. Its not even news. People say stupid things all the time. Ask Tammy, I say stupid stuff at work nonstop and if I needed to apologize to everyone all the time for it, I would never get any work done.

Al Sharpton's "causes" help no one, other than himself and his pocketbook. He doesnt care about "his people". "His people" is his bank account.

I totally agree with the comment about this taking up so much news. I thought it would go away last week after it was brought up. And then it kept building and building and building.
The media loves to drum stuff up and this one got major play I guess. Probably because Imus is in New York. If he was a radio host in Minneapolis or Chicago even you probably wouldn't have heard about this.

Sharpton's popularity amazes me. I don't get why a group of people would follow what he says.

Yeah, your right snoop dog used the "B" word in his songs. But snoop dog is not on national television rapping his songs is he? News gets out no matter what. Songs dont have to. You dont have to listen to the radio station that plays his music. Therefor the only way you would know that Snoop Dog uses those words is becasue the NEWS made such a big deal out of it.
