Here's the northern suburbs crime report, courtesy of the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
Anoka
Theft - A caller reported that her cell phone had been stolen at a bar the previous night. She said she called the phone and a man answered, said he was holding the phone for somebody else, and tried to hit on her and gave her his phone number. An officer called the number and left a message. The phone was brought to the police department and returned to its owner.
Blaine
Assault - A woman was punched in the face by a man who was trying to hit the person standing next to her.
Coon Rapids
Harassment - A caller said she'd gotten two calls from men who claimed to have gotten her number from a man on the "Live Links" phone chat line. The woman said she does not use any such dating service and thinks her ex-husband is giving out her personal information on the chat line.
Theft - A man was seen eating a sandwich in Cub Foods. When an employee told him he'd have to pay for it, he ran away.
Falcon Heights
Fraud - A resident reported that he'd been duped out of a laptop valued at $1,500, as well as $1,500 in cash, while selling the laptop online. The "buyer" had requested a series of transactions that involved shipping the computer and cash to a third party in Nigeria.
