So-called comedian Al Franken has announced that he'll be running for U.S. Senate in Minnesota vs. Republican Sen. Norm Coleman.
If this guy wins it will show what a joke politics are in Minnesota. First we elect Jessie Ventura and then we could elect Al Franken?
I have yet to hear any substance on any topic from Franken. All I ever hear his do is attack Republicans with rude and angry remarks. I think he'll fall apart in the debates or when he's put on the spot because he'll try cracking jokes about Coleman and Republicans that will come across as mean-spirited.
If I were Coleman I would barely acknowledge Franken in this campaign. I would run a totally positive campaign and point out what he's done in the Senate. There's no point in getting into a battle with Franken, especially since he's backed by liberals from Hollywood. He'll be able to get more ads on the air due to the amount of money he's going to raise.
Coleman needs to sit back and wait for Franken to explode, then he can go after him.

Here's a sure sign of trouble - he's using Wellstone's tactics - I saw a campaign sticker that simply said "FRANKEN!" - white letters on green background. That's just not right - its like using your kidnapped kid (Wetterling) or your son who's in the Army (Webb) for personal / political gain. At least we can count on the "Moral Left" to avoid these tactics....
