The Crisis...

I'm not going to fill this post with a lot of rhetoric...I'm going let the offending parties speak for themselves so you can hear the words for yourself. Pay attention to what is said. Especially what is said at the very end...

Now with that said. Something has to be done. If this situation is as monumental as it is made out to be, I see no reason to rush to a solution. We would best serve this country to take our time and exercise due diligence.

Read here to see others who believe that a rush to legislation is a bad thing.

It is said in Proverbs "The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty." (21:5)

I was just going to post something on this, but this was better than I could have done. I've been watching info on this for awhile tonight, and have come to a few of conclusions.

1) There is no 'leadership' in Congress. If there was, there would be a better bill that would have passed by now.

2) Congress has no long term agenda. I read a quote that everyone on the house floor believed this bill should pass, but only if someone else voted for it. Term limits are a necessity. Without them, you get Ted Kennedy, Ted Stevens, Nancy Pelosi, and many more inept career politicians.
Everyone in Congress should be replaced 100% within 6 years.

3) This is not Bush's fault. It has been growing for more than 8 years, and that's an awful lot of credit to give to a President that you barely believe can tie his own shoes.

4) This country needs to feel pain! By that, I don't mean not buying steaks instead of eating out. I don't mean go to a theme park close to home rather than take a flight. I mean eating bread and butter instead of meat. I mean passing by the 'organic' aisle in the grocery store, and growing your own. I mean NO cable, NO internet, and NO IPOD. That may mean me as well, and I know I will survive. How many people won't? If you have credit card debt, you're screwed.

5) The more time that passes, the more I believe a better bill needs to come. No more money to ACORN, so they can give it back to Democrats.

6) Shrink government except for oversight. Private companies will be held accountable.
