Left Leaning Balance

A few days ago there was a letter to the editor in the Minnesota paper that really cracked me up. The writer was touting Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Al Franken (I still can't believe that people are going to vote for this guy) and what his credentials are. He then went on to say how he was voting for Franken because the U.S. government was intended to be balanced and Franken will bring balance to the government (apparently because the current office holder, Republican Norm Coleman, is making it unbalanced??).

So he wants balance in government and feels the Republicans have made it too one-sided? So let's see ......... Democrats control the U.S. Senate, the U.S. House, a majority of governors' mansions around the country and a majority of state legislatures. The left also controls college campuses, the mainstream news media, the entertainment industry and the unions. And there's a good chance they will control the White House starting next year. Oh, and if they control the White House they will also be able to tip the balance of the Supreme Court and federal courts over to the left as well.

So I'm trying really hard to figure out how Al Franken is going to help with the balance because it appears to me that Democrats already control EVERYTHING! If this guy is going to write into the paper and support Franken because of "balance" he might want to get his facts right. Instead it's just another card-holding Democrat trying to act like they care about including all voices in the political process.

I'm not saying one party can't control everything, I'd love it if the Republicans did the same (and they did a few years ago). It all depends on what people vote for. If people want Democrats controlling everything, fine, vote for that, it's your choice.
But the hypocricy amazes me because when Republicans controlled everything the national media and Democrats went absolutely nuts talking about how government shouldn't work this way and how all voices should be heard.
Funny, but they don't mention that at all now when the Democrats are on the verge of owning everything. Not a word!! It's acceptable if Democrats control everything, but if Republicans do - end of the world!!!
